Chris Hannigan is a singer/songwriter and visual artist from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. His new record is due out in Spring of 2020.
He's done national touring as a guitarist/backup singer for Nashville's Cordovas (ATO Records).
As a solo artist, he's opened for a wide range of major talents:
- Nashville's hitmaker Dave Pahanish
- Joe Firstman of The Cordovas (ATO)
- Josh Rouse (Yep Roc)
- Steve Poltz (Compass)
- Daphne Willis (Sony)
- Alexis and the Samurai
In 2019, he focused on writing songs for his next release. As a member of an online songwriting group started by Ben Shannon and Mai Bloomfield (Raining Jane and Jason Mraz), he wrote a new song nearly every week, exploring a wide range of acoustic styles. He also managed to play about 100 shows locally, including several feature spots at PIT International Airport's Performing Arts Series.
In 2017, he won Winner of 2017 Acoustic Challenge in Pittsburgh, chosen among 44 other talented local songwriters. His song "Go Around," (written by Diana Futrovsky) was also selected as the Song of the Challenge.
In 2014, a pivotal year, he toured across the midwest and east coast with the Cordovas (ATO Records), performing 40 shows in 60 days. Pulling double duty, he performed an opening set of his original music, then switched gears and sang harmonies and strummed acoustic for the band.
As a visual artist, Chris does a piece of daily art which he posts of his instagram page. Mostly exploratory in nature, the work demonstrates boldness, originality, and dives into unexpected visual territory.
Today, he's playing shows locally, working on his new record, and spending quality time with his family.
